Metta World Peace Chooses To LOVE Not Hate!
Last week I sat down with Metta World Peace at his plush New York residence in West Midtown Manhattan. He welcomed my team and I into his home with a charismatic smile and warm open arms. I had the pleasure to chat with him about his new children's book Metta's World Peace and Love Stories.
This novel marks World Peace's second venture into the lovely world of children's literature. It consists of five short stories that teach children the importance of love for oneself, family, friends, and community. Metta grew up in the largest public housing development in North America, Queensbridge, NY. He described his childhood community as an environment that severely lacked love. However, he was determined to satisfy that void, and made a conscious decision to develop a greater sense of love within himself. As a result, he felt a responsibility to use his platform as an NBA player to inspire others to make love a top priority within their own lives.
The colorful 40-page book caters to children between the ages of 4-10 years old.
